A Blu-Wind Tower - Turbine combination needs no special transportation requirements as any single component of the tower, apart from the wind blade which depends on power specifications, can be transported in two (2) x 40ft. standard shipping containers. On site assembly of our modular tower requires a minimal assembly crew and virtually no on-site welding. Because of the innovative, modular design of a Blu-Wind tower the crane size used in the towers erection is significantly smaller and cheaper than heavy-duty construction cranes normally used when assembling traditional tubular towers.
Unlike most of our competitors, a Blu-Wind Tower - Turbine combination can be transported on normal roads and highways without incurring the significant costs associated with road reconstruction, removal of structures and road furniture and frequently the destruction of local flora often associated with delivering larger, old style towers, to their final location prior to installation.

Blu-Wind's innovative modular tower design has virtually eliminated the problems frequently associated with traditional conical towers such as costly transportation and expensive on-site build requirements.
A typical wind tower is comprised of tubular sections which are welded together. Blu-Wind's innovative design, developed in collaboration with the University of Padova, is a modular tower assembled in situ with 10.9 Friedberg bolts. A complete tower can be transported in two x 40ft standard shipping containers, which enables significant transportation savings especially in areas of Extreme Orography.
The tower, Patent No.Prot BG 2009 A 000055 guarantees power generation under the IEC 61400 specification (GL). In addition, a Blu-Wind tower’s external structure is produced with galvanized reinforced sheet-metal making it the lightest and most weather-resistant currently available.
Blu-Wind srl install 30m - 40m towers for 50kW wind turbines which are suitable for communities, agricultural farms, wind farms and institutions such as schools, hospitals, local government offices, sports and leisure centres and medium sized businesses. Blu-Wind specializes in installing wind turbines for rural locations which have limited or difficult access.

•Blades made of re-inforced polyester and are equipped with “fail-safe” tip-brakes which are activated simultaneously by centrifugal forces.

•Rotor Speed of 40rpm (30rpm fr 600kW)
•Hub is made of cast steel- GGG 40.3
•Main Shaft is made of high-grade alloy steel
•Main bearings are calculated for a nearly noise-less operation of the main shaft
•Gearbox is a three stage helical unit that transforms 40rpm of the rotor to 1500 rpm of the generator.
•The turbine is equipped with 2 independent fail–safe systems
•Generator is a pole-changing asynchronous machine
• BW200/250 has a gear ratio of 1:37.8 (1:50.3 for the 600kW model)
